Weekend in 'Landan'...

Last weekend I went on a school trip to my favourite city - London! Although I didn't get to visit my usual places (next time, Camden!), it was a pretty productive two days. Our first stop was the Tate, to find artist research for A2, although I think I ended up taking more photos of the people of London than anything else. The second stop was a tour at the Globe Theatre, as well as a small Shakespearian acting class - 'I do bite my thumb, Sir!' - and in the evening we went to my favourite part of the trip; we went to the theatre showing War Horse. If you do get the chance to go, definitely pack some Kleenex! It's incredible to watch, and I can only imagine how much work went into such a great performance.
Although I couldn't take any photos in the theatre, I thought I'd post what I wore to the showing. I ended up recycling my prom dress (a pretty useful investment of £30!) but dressed it down with a velvet top and jacket. Perhaps I should have taken into account the long walk from the coach to the theatre, seeing as with every gust of wind, my dress attempted to double as a hula hoop! It made for some light comedy of the night, however, and at least my breaking in of my new shoes went well - Topshop, you've made me happy at the expense of £20.
(Jacket - Warehouse, Velvet top - Thrifted, Dress - H&M, Boots - Topshop)
On the second day it was an early rise to get to the Saatchi Gallery. Their current exhibition of 'Out of Focus: Photography' was truly interesting, and my favourites were definitely these portraits by Katy Grannan. I decided to wear the more safe option of a maxi-skirt and flat lace-ups (another recent Topshop investment for £10), which were perfect for strolling around Knightsbridge. We had a wander and had a peek in shops like Tiffany's...I think it goes without saying no purchases were made!
Hope you all have a lovely week!
