One of my favourite places to go to is Plymouth, a lovely city down South in England where my aunt lives. So, spending a few days down there was the perfect break from the growing mount of school work on my desk. I especially love that it's by the sea, and the views are perfect (as well as the food!), but there's also so many little shops that I could quite happily spend a day or two in and I always make sure to visit them. My favourite places are those caverns claiming to be shops, that you can delve through for hours on end and still find treasures, and I thought I'd share some of my favourites with you!
The Barbican at Plymouth has so many sweet little shops that line the cobbled street, and the bookshop there is immense. Oh, I really mean it! Which ever way you look all you can see are piles of old, new, paperback, hardback, calligraphy books, war time books...the list goes on forever! Just before I left, a sweet little leather bound book caught my eye, all hand designed and written which I think I'll save for another post, considering the length of this one. I'm surprised I saw it, given how many books there are...I think you'll see what I mean!

Parade Antiques is right around the corner from here, another of my favourites. Although, when I was younger I always was a little apprehensive, due to the various stuffed animals, which I still avoid, but in every nook and cranny there are so many wonderful trinkets. In the instance of the line 'If I were rich...', I would definitely buy half of this shop in a heartbeat. I think, considering I'm a penny-counting student, I'm going to settle by saving up for a pen from here. Sounds a little odd, I suppose, but the cabinet of pens are so beautiful, and considering I want to go into English or journalism in the future, I would love to buy one to always carry with me...I suppose as a little good luck charm. Speaking of charms, I did actually make a purchase here, although it cost me a bit! The little charm bracelet in one of pictures I just couldn't leave behind; it was so pretty and detailed that I had to buy it. I'm pretty sure I'll post again with it soon so watch this space. If only I could've made a trip back and bought all the other pieces of jewellery too!

Ah, I warned it would be a lengthy post! Only one more to share though. On the third day in Plymouth, my aunt, mom and I took a train to Totnes, which is just twenty minutes away. It's such a lovely town, and the atmosphere there is so friendly. It was my first time visiting there and my aunt took us to this cave of a shop called The Revival, the home of so much vintage clothing! I really wish I'd bought something from there, but the chance to have a good old nosey at all the lovely dresses, jewellery, and a suprisingly large collection of gloves and hats was a great excuse to go back the next time I visit. If you do ever visit near here, it's a great place to go, although I don't promise those who visit that your suitcase will close again at the end of it! My favourite bit of the shop was the room resembling every teenage girl's haven; a wonderful, cosy room, completely white - including all the clothes. I'm surprised I'm even blogging now...if it was up to me, I think I'd still be in there now!

After having a quite evident dose of retail therapy, I really should be feeling refreshed and ready to tackle my school work. If only! I'm actually a bit obsessed with the films of Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy. I found the books too hard to read through, but the films are definitely the next best thing. I'm just about to move on to the third, after watching the previous two both yesterday. Just call me Lazybones! So, that's pretty much my week summed up, what did you guys get up to?

P.S. It turns out my email was set wrong on my profile! It's sorted now, but sorry to anyone who's tried contacting me. Have a lovely week.
