So the weather has been slightly cold where I live - though the sun does keep making an appearance - but I was utterly determined to go out in a skirt seeing as I'm still on my summer holidays and I wasn't ready to layer up just yet! My conversion to longer lengths is going further and further, and when I saw this maxi at the Next sales, I just couldn't walk away. It's so comfy; a definite preference from 'Oh no, wind! Argh!' skirts that I always had a bit of trouble with! 

Although I usually stick to the sale racks, I bought these cute wedges from Topshop back in June for my school prom for £70 (a bit of a piling the change on to the till situation as they took up every penny from my bag - but my dress came to a nice thirty pounds so I thought I'd treat myself to some platforms!) and they're so worth it. Who knew comfort could come in the form of over 5 inches? But I think I'll be looking forward to putting my big boots on and layering up as the Autumn sets in! I love being able to throw a simple dress on for summery days, but there's something about piling on layers of clothes for the colder seasons that I just love! What about you guys? Looking forward to the new A/W trends? Or going all sad at saying a soon farewell to the Summer?
